Official collecting association

In the much hyped Olympics there are many mascots, stamps, posters and coins that make up a great number of exciting collectibles for any individual. The International Olympic Committee [IOC] that takes care of the different planning and organizing of the greatest sporting event in the world formed an official collecting association. The main objective of the association was to help in the collection of the different Olympics memorabilia that are released at each of the Olympics. Furthermore the money raised from these collectibles can help to fund the money spent on achieving the Olympic events and covers costs. The IOC came up with several organizations to help them in collecting Olympics memorabilia.

The first ever official collecting association that was established by IOC for the collection of special Olympic memorabilia was the International Federal of Olympic Philately, better known as FIPO in the year of 1982. After its establishment, there became two more collecting associations that were created respectively and named the International Federation of Olympic Numismatics, better known as FINO and the International Olympic Memorabilia Federation, which was known as FIMO. The three organizations together were known as the Olympic Collectors Commission or CCO. This commission was developed in the year 1992 and since then has been instrumental in the buying and selling of Olympic memorabilia. These three were notably the most important organizations in existence when it came to Olympic collectibles, such as coins or stamps.

The official collecting association has its own website through which a person can gather information about all the ongoing exhibitions of Olympic memorabilia being carried out by people across the different places in the world. The commission helps people around the world to get to know about different Olympic memorabilia like mascots, posters, coins and stamps. By learning more about these items, citizens all around the world will gain a further interest in collecting these items, which could be a very wise decision. These memorabilia are auctioned off at great prices by the commission and a great number of people have been seen to be interested in buying them at the auctions to resale for greater prices, or to keep as an honor to the Olympic games.

Of all the other Olympic memorabilia the Olympic posters are the ones that are in great demand with the people. The various posters that are released at the Olympics are great collectibles and the number of people who try to get hold of them is quite large. As a great number of posters are released each year it is very easy to get hold of them and those of the recent ones can be bought for quite cheap. The posters of the older Olympics are much tougher to obtain and hence are very expensive. The official collecting association gets hold of all the available posters and tries to deal them to interested buyers and if anybody has a poster that is not there with the association, it buys the poster from the person.

The Olympic mascots are another more popular form of Olympic memorabilia that is also bought and sold by the official collecting association of the memorabilia. Every year in the Olympics there have been new mascots that are released by the IOC and they are quite a favorite with the interested collectors across the world. The value of the older Olympic mascots is quite high and can be bought by interested buyers from the association.

In the recent years coins have also been bought out in the Olympics to commemorate the grand sporting events and people have also shown a great eagerness to collect them. The official collecting association sees to it that those who are interested in the Olympic memorabilia can get hold of these coins along with the mascots and posters that are bought out every four years. So if you had a desire to collect Olympic memorabilia but did not know whom to approach then you should try the website of the official collecting association of the Olympics as early as you can.
